The standard behind the NAIHSP Member Seal

National Association of Independent Home Service Providers

The member pledge.

As a member of the National Association of Independent Home Service Providers, my business pledges to uphold the standards that earn the public's trust in independent home service professionals:

  1. Honesty in every transaction. We quote honestly, describe work accurately, and never use bait-and-switch pricing, false urgency, or misleading advertising.

  2. Licensing and insurance. We hold every license, permit, and insurance policy our trade and jurisdiction require, and we provide proof on request.

  3. Written agreements. We put scope, price, and terms in writing before work begins, and we document every change the customer approves.

  4. Quality workmanship. We perform work to applicable codes and manufacturer standards, with qualified people, and we stand behind our work.

  5. Respect for the customer and their home. We arrive as scheduled or communicate promptly, protect the property we work in, and leave the site clean.

  6. Fair treatment of people. We treat customers, employees, and fellow members without discrimination, and we compete on merit — never by disparaging another member's business with statements we cannot support.

  7. Safety and environmental stewardship. We follow safe work practices and dispose of materials responsibly, protecting our customers, our crews, and the communities we serve.

  8. Continuing education. We invest in training for ourselves and our teams, and we keep current with our trade.

  9. Care of the association's name. We display the NAIHSP Member Seal only while our membership is active and in good standing, and never in a way that implies the association guarantees our work.

  10. Accountability. We respond promptly and in good faith to customer complaints and to association inquiries regarding this Code. We understand that a proven, serious violation may result in suspension or removal of membership and of the right to display the Seal.
